The One Where I Suck It Up Buttercup

My wife has a shirt that reads “Suck It Up Buttercup”. Today was one of those days for me.

I am fortunate to be attending the Live Event with my StoryAthlete Partners. We are in the country music capital of the world Nashville TN. There are about fifty of us rooming in an updated hotel that was converted to an Airbnb.

Last night most of us walked two blocks to a country bar named The Social. There was a great live band and plenty of reasonably priced alcoholic beverages. Believe me, the liqueur was flowing.

Fast forward to this morning and our exercise guru has planned our 12 minutes of death for the day starting at 7:30 am. Did I mention it took place in the middle of a field near a park in 80-degree weather and 90% humidity?

A group of about 15 of us meet in front of the Airbnb and drag our happy asses over to the field. If this wasn’t a suck it up buttercup moment I don’t what is.

It took a great deal of concentration and emotional fortitude not to break out crying and run from the field. The good news is that although I was dreading the routine after I did it I felt that much better about my choice and myself in general
