CBD Oil Is a Cure

When it comes to cannabis, a lot of information gets distorted since it is still, by and large, a sensitive topic in modern society. Even though there have been a lot of research papers published and studies were undertaken on the positive effects of the drug, it is still considered in negative light by a lot of people.

Yet, there is one hemp product that has been steadily gaining attention due to its definite effects on health and is being widely accepted by the consumers as the awareness about its benefits is increasing. That product is cannabidiol, or as it is called, CBD oil.

Even though there is more awareness than ever and medical marijuana has been legalized in multiple states, there are certain myths surrounding CBD oil that plague the universal acceptance of the product. Read on to know what are they and the actual truth behind those myths.

Yes, CBD oil is effective in treating dreadful diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis and different types of cancer. However, it does not cure any of these ailments. It offers relief from the chronic pain and the side effects that the body experiences from the actual treatment of these diseases. Therefore, it should not be mistaken that CBD oil is a complete cure in itself. It has therapeutic benefits and grants relief from a lot of symptoms plaguing the body as well as the mind, including anxiety and depression.

This myth has resulted from the popular perception that people have of the cannabis plant and everything that comes out of it. CBD oil is still regarded to have psychoactive effects, a misconception among a lot of people.

The truth is, CBD oil has absolutely no psychoactive effects. It is the part of the cannabis plant that is only used for its health benefits because it does not give a ‘high’ like the cannabis drug (which has THC). The intoxicating compound is THC, tetrahydrocannabinol, that is responsible for getting people high. While THC is also helpful in relieving pain and helping in insomnia, it alters the behavior as well by reacting with the CB1 receptors in the brain and releasing chemical dopamine.

CBD oil, on the other hand, has no component that can affect human behavior. It is entirely healthy and is a brilliant alternative to THC for the individuals who need it for treatment, minus the intoxication.

Cannabis plants are of different varieties, Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa being the most common and popular ones. Cannabis sativa is the industrial hemp plant and contains almost no THC, while both indica and sativa can contain the psychoactive element.

The industrial hemp or the Cannabis sativa has a lot of CBD in its leaves and flowers with less than 0.3% of THC and is also legal in the United States. The oil that is derived from the actual cannabis plant is called the CBD oil.

However, medically, there is no difference between the CBD hemp oil and CBD cannabis oil. They both do not contain THC and should have the same health benefits if produced in the right manner.

Another myth or misunderstanding about CBD oil is that it is the same as medical marijuana. The reality is that while medical marijuana does contain cannabinoids, the CBD oil is completely different from medical marijuana in terms of origin and processing.

CBD oil is mostly made from the industrial hemp or Cannabis sativa while the medical marijuana is made from the actual cannabis plant. It might contain small or large amounts of THC, making it psychoactive and not available for common consumption. CBD oil, on the other hand, does not contain THC at all and is completely non-psychoactive, therefore, it can be purchased normally by people online as well as from a chemist store.

One of the biggest misconceptions about the CBD oil that makes people not warm up to the idea of using it is that it is illegal and using it is a crime. The reality is that, while it may be in the gray area in some regions, CBD oil is not illegal it does not contain any element that makes it intoxicating or psychoactive.

There are certain parameters due to which the CBD oil is considered to be legal which is often its origin and the elements it includes. As long as it does not include THC and is produced from the industrial hemp plant, it is not illegal to consume CBD oil. The legality of the product is mostly in question due to the wrong assumptions that have been in the business for ages.

Hence, it’s time that the misconceptions and generalized myths about the CBD oil are disregarded and the positive research reaches more people so that its benefits can cure more ailments.
