Abiding

Jesus saves.
What then?
We’re saved, so get back to life as usual?
Or is there something more?

Salvation makes us new,
ㅤbut our old selves still inhabit us.
Transformation begins, but is not instantaneous.
We need to participate in the transformation.

Is it then simply an act of will power?
We decide to be good, whatever that means?
And we feel bad when we fail?
Beat ourselves up?

Are we transformed by guilt?
No!

We are transformed by the power of Christ in us.

And when we draw near to him;
When we walk with him;
When we abide in him;
His power influences us.
Transforms us.

We are transformed by Jesus.
Not by trying to be good,
ㅤbut by walking with Jesus.

Lord, today I walk with you.
I join you on the path toward becoming a new creation.
